It’s a health and wellness company that you might have never heard before and become interested in their business opportunity.
If this is your concern, then you have come to the right place.
In this review, I will provide you the essential information you need to know in order to come up with a conclusive decision whether to invest in the company or not.
So once again, is the business a scam? Or are they a legit source of income?

- Recommended?: Defintely NOT!
What is HempTonics USA?
HempTonics USA is an MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) that specializes in the health and wellness niche.
The company primarily sells CBD oils.
I wasn’t able to conclusively identify the founder and inception date of the business.
Upon checking their domain, it appears that it was created on May 21, 2019.
The business was said to be previously owned by a man named Paul Drockton—he was a former distributor for Rain International.
According to its official website, the business is currently owned by the following person—
I’ve also reviewed other MLM companies in the niche of health and wellness. Check out the following description if you want to read them—Zilis, Tranont, Usana, IDLife, Longrich, Univia, VeloVita, Navan Global, HB Naturals, and Heal Worldwide.
I won’t be talking about their products since our main focus here is their business opportunity.

The HempTonics business opportunity
The hallmark of Multi-Level Level Marketing is its complex and almost incomprehensible compensation plan.
It is so convoluted that you may need an expert finance person to decipher the whole thing.
So much more complicated if they say that they are not what they are, despite the information they provided suggest that they are what they are.
What I mean by this is that they claim to be neither an MLM nor different from the rest.
Although it was directly stated, it seems like they’re implying that they are not an MLM. They even mention that network marketing is on the decline and a dying business.
The fact that they promote recruitment and creation of a downline network, very much says that they run a Multi-Level Marketing operation.
Their compensation plan also strongly indicates that they are an MLM. Features like residual income and infinity bonuses are trademarks of MLMs.
In addition, they even mentioned the study conducted by the FTC, which says that 98% of people who join MLMs lose money. It seems like they are compromising their interest because they are an MLM.
Also, it wasn’t directly indicated, but since they also mentioned other MLMs, it seems that they are implying that they are different from other MLM operations.
They may differ in the compensation plan gimmicks—all of them are essentially the same.
Generally, every MLMs income primarily comes from—
- Retail commissions – it is income from retail sales.
- Recruitment – it is income based on your downline network.
I will explain the income streams of HempTonic USA in the next section of this review.

What are its income streams?
Commissions from retail sales
Since MLMs also functions as a direct selling entity, the reseller also earns commissions based on retail sales from the product sold or services rendered.
They currently provide 25% on retail sales you make and your personally sponsored lower network.
Residual Commissions
Residual commissions are the bread and butter of MLMs. It is where most of the so-called affiliates’ income is coming from.
HempTonics adapts a unilevel type of networking in providing commissions and bonuses to its affiliates.
The summary of their residual commission is as follows—
- First level network – 25% commission rate
- Second level network – 10% commission rate
- Third level network – 5% commission rate
The residual commission the affiliate receives includes sales that were made either through retail customers or lower network affiliates.
Infinity Bonus
HempTonics mentioned in their official website that their compensation plan offers an Infinity Bonus. But they did not mention the mechanics of the bonus.
If you are familiar with MLMs, this term might sound common to you.
It is a feature MLMs commonly used to describe their bonus that the member should earn beyond the normal compensation structure of an MLM.
Such a bonus is usually based on total group volume. And the average income, in general, is about 1% to 2%.
You also have to take note that this bonus won’t happen unless you have a large lower network.
Leadership and Presidential Bonus
It is a bonus given to HempTonic affiliates upon reaching its top positions.
The summary is as follows—
- Leadership bonus – upon reaching the leadership bonuses, the affiliate receives a $100 bonus every your team was able to make a retail sale of 100 bottles in a month.
- Presidential bonus - upon reaching the presidential bonuses, the affiliate receives a $2,000 bonus every your team was able to make a retail sale of 1,000 bottles in a month.
Their definition of “team” wasn’t clearly explained, but we can safely assume that they’re implying to the total group volume generated by you and your lower network.
Rewards based on promotions
HempTonics claims to reward an affiliate that reaches a certain milestone like iPads or free car promotions.
Again, they did not mention the specifics of the bonus.
How much would it cost me to join them?
The membership is free. As soon as you successfully sign up, you immediately become a HempTonic affiliate.
But if you want to advance in rankings and access their high-income features, then you have to avail their affiliate kits (as they call it).
The kits range from a minimum of $82 to a high of $679.
The summary is as follows—
- Lion Club package – it costs $82, which includes one product.
- Lion package – it costs $295, which includes four products.
- Roaring Lion Package – it costs $679, which includes ten products.

Is HempTonics USA a reliable source of income?
Success in Multi-Level Marketing is extremely rare.
According to a study conducted by the Federal Trade Commission, they found out that 99% of people who join MLMs lose money than earn any profits.
This instance was further discussed in Jon Taylor’s book, “Multi-Level Marketing Unmasked.”
It was further added that MLMs are flawed and fail to meet expectations because of two things—
Capitalization

It is a special term that is used to MLM affiliates that tend to over-purchase company products to maintain or improve their personal volume.
As a result, most MLM affiliate runs out of funds to finance the company’s business opportunity. Thus, it eventually leads to them being inactive or quitting altogether.
Recruitment
A significant factor for an MLM affiliate to advance in rankings and potentially earn a higher income is through recruitment.
A newly recruited member may try to recruit or sell the products to family members, friends, or several acquaintances first.
Although they know the affiliate, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s a done deal. No. You may try to persuade them to buy or join the business opportunity, but there’s still no guarantee.
And persistently pushing the business opportunity or products to them may even lead to annoyance and resentment eventually.
Doing MLMs is much more difficult for people with no marketing background.
But it becomes extra-challenging if they run out of people they know, and try to recruit people that are complete strangers.
Some end up frustrated and giving up the business altogether.

What I Don't Like About HempTonics USA
Success is recruitment-based
For you to succeed in MLM, you have to create a large network through recruitment.
The hemp oil industry is saturated
The health and wellness niche, especially hemp oil, is so saturated that it would be difficult for any company to compete considering how many popular CBD products are out there.
Low-income potential
According to the FTC, the success rate is very slim, that only an estimate of 1% of people who join them succeeds.
No BBB credentials
The Better Business Bureau, or simply the BBB is one way most people do to check the credibility of a business.
Not having a profile with them doesn’t immediately that the business is fraudulent in any way, but it may significantly impact the decision-making of potential investors.
What I Like About HempTonics USA
I don’t see any positives about the company as of yet.
Is HempTonics USA a scam?
As of now, I did not find any reason to believe that HempTonic USA is a pyramid scheme or scam.
They are technically legal because the business is listed as an MLM.
However, some might argue that MLM is essentially a pyramid scheme in disguise or an outright scam.
Multi-Level Marketing is only legal because it provides value in return for your so-called investment.
On the other hand, a pyramid scheme is illegal in most regions worldwide because they are high risk, and you don’t get anything in exchange for the money you put into the business.
