Zija International Review

What is Zija International?

Zija International is an MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) that specializes in selling health and wellness products.

The company is headquartered in Utah. It was founded in 2005 by Kenneth E. Brailsford.

I will not be discussing their products since our focus here is there a business opportunity, whether it’s a good investment or not.

I’ve also reviewed other health and wellness MLMs, such as the following IDLife, Longrich, Univia, VeloVita, Navan, and HB Naturals, to name a few.

The Zija International business opportunity

Complex and incomprehensible compensation plans are the hallmark of MLMs.

It’s very convoluted that it seems you’d need a financial expert to decipher the whole thing.

This type of practice is common to MLMs. They do so to prevent potential recruits from asking many questions.

And to completely save their selves from further questioning and persuade you to join, they would just show you the money.

In this review, I have used the compensation plan that was officially attached to their website.

Zija offers several income streams, such as the following—

  • Retail Commissions
  • Fast Start Commissions
  • Get Qualified Bonus
  • Team Commissions
  • Customer Retention Bonus
  • Leadership Bonus

I will explain each of them in the following section. I have simplified them so that you can understand them more clearly.

The retail commission was not specifically mentioned in the compensation plan they provided on their website.

But I have included them anyway since they are a vital income source, and that they were part of another version of their compensation plan.

Lastly, Zija International rewards the following ranks—

Here Is My Best Work At Home Recommendation For Newbies!

What are its income streams?

Retail Commissions

Retail commissions are a common feature in any MLMs. It is where the consultant earns income through retail sales.

Although this income stream was not specifically mentioned in their website, it was stated in another compensation plan.

In this case—I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt that it does exist.

In another compensation plan, it was indicated that the percentage commission is normally at 20%. The payout is provided weekly.

Fast Start Commission

It is income earned by recruiting new consultants or retail customers.

Of course, the percentage of income is based on your personal volume. The summary is as follows—

Zija International Review

It can be interpreted as follows—

  • If you are active with at least $75 sales or personal volume, then you earn 15% commissions.
  • If you are active with at least $150 sales or personal volume, then you earn 25% commissions.

Let’s take the example given above. Let’s say that you’re an Active 150—this means that you earn $37.50 and $62.50 commissions if the newly enrolled retail customers avail 150 PV and 250 PV, respectively.

And you again earn $125 if a newly recruited consultant avails 500 PV.

All in all, the principal consultant should earn a total of $225 ($37.50 + $62.50 + $125).

The same rule applies to active consultants with 75 PV.

The Get Qualified Bonus (GQ Bonus)

It’s a cash bonus given to you and your team upon reaching a specific requirement.

Zija International Review

It involves sponsoring two new consultants and placing them under your network.

They also have to avail a specific PV to qualify for this bonus—

  • A $50 bonus is waiting if the consultants avail at least 150 PV initial orders plus 75 PV on rewards purchase.
  • A $100 bonus is waiting if the consultants avail at least 250 PV initial orders plus 75 PV on rewards purchase.

The Zija Reward Purchase is not clearly explained.

The only explanation they provide is that it is the recurring orders—which is probably the autoship or automatic orders per month.

Customer Retention Bonus

The basis of the bonus is customer volume, which they refer to as Club 500 and Club 1,000.

The consultant earns a free product and cash bonus upon reaching a certain volume.

  • 500 to 999 customer volume level – the member earns $100/75PV worth of Zija Rewards Purchases.
  • 1,000 to 2,499 customer volume level - the member earns $200/150PV worth of Zija Rewards Purchases.
  • 2,500 to 4,999 customer volume level - the member earns $100/75PV worth of Zija Rewards Purchases plus a $250 cash bonus.
  • 5,000 to 9,999 customer volume level - the member earns $100/75PV worth of Zija Rewards Purchases plus $500 cash bonus.
  • Ten thousand and above customer volume level - the member earns $100/75PV worth of Zija Rewards Purchases plus $1,000.

This is only the basis of the bonus. There’s a more extensive explanation in but it is unimportant because it mainly revolves around the abovementioned list.

Team Commissions

Team Commissions are the bread and butter of MLMs—it is where most of the income is generated. Zija even mentioned it as the backbone of their compensation plan.

How it works is you earn a 10% commission anytime your network accumulates a minimum of 500 PV on your weaker leg.

The consultant could earn up to $10,000 per cycle.

Does this excite you? You shouldn’t be.

The MLM business model is extremely flawed that approximately 1% of people who join them become successful—it is that slim!

Recruitment is the main basis of income for MLMs—it is also the primary reason why it is flawed according to the Federal Trade Commissions. I will explain more of this in the latter sections.

Leadership Bonus

As you reach the leadership positions, you gain further bonuses such as Leadership Pools and Lifestyle Bonus.

The summary of Lifestyle Bonus is as follows—

Zija International Review

When you reach and maintain the rankings of Gold and higher for two consecutive cycles, you earn bonuses based on your specified rankings, as stated above.

The summary of Leadership Pools is as follows—

Zija International Review

The consultant earns 6% to 12% based on their rankings.

How much will it cost me to join?

The basic membership fee is $20, and starters’ kit of $41.90.

You may also add packages that range from $330 to $1,320.

Take note that each package has an equivalent personal volume, which may affect your status in the company.

Tired Of Expensive MLMs?

Here is A Way Better Alternative!

Is Zija International a reliable source income?

Success in Multi-Level Marketing is extremely rare.

According to research conducted by the Federal Trade Commission, they found that almost a hundred percent of people who join MLMs lose money than earn anything.

This case was also well-documented in Dr. Jon Taylors’ book, “Multi-Level Marketing Unmasked.”

It was further discussed that MLMs fail to meet expectation because of two things—

Capitalization

An MLM consultant has to improve and maintain personal or team volume to qualify for bonuses and commissions.

And one way for them to accomplish this is through retail sales or purchasing the products themselves.

Have you heard of the term Garage Qualified?

It is a definition used to describe MLM agents that tend to over-purchase company products for the sake of increasing sales volume.

As a result, they end up running out of funds, which eventually lead to losses and quitting altogether.

This is especially true if the consultant isn’t earning anything.

Recruitment

The consultants’ advancement and earning higher income is essentially based on how well they recruit and manage their network.

Recruiting and creating a large lower line improves your chances of improving your personal volume as well.

For new recruits, they may probably try to recruit first their friends, family members, or certain acquaintances.

Even though they may know the consultant, it is no guarantee that they could recruit all of them.

What’s worse is that it may even lead to annoyance or resentment if the consultant pushes the business opportunity to them.

That challenging part begins when they finally start to promote the business opportunity to complete strangers.

Being not able to recruit sufficient people under your network can be frustrating at times. Often, it leads to the consultant being inactive or giving up the business altogether.

Is Zija International a scam?

No. Zija International is not a pyramid scheme nor a scam.

They are a legitimate Multi-Level Marketing that sells health and wellness products.

However, some might argue that MLMs are essentially a pyramid scheme, or even worse a scam.

Although I agree to some extent, they only differ in terms of legality.

MLM is legal because you value in exchange for your so-called investment.

And these values are in the form of retail merchandises, which you can sell for profits. Thus, it’d look like that you’re a direct seller than a business partner.

On the other hand, a pyramid scheme is illegal because you get nothing in return—only a promise of high returns.

Thus, it makes them extremely high risk with the likelihood of incurring losses than gains.

What I Don't Like About Zija International

Success is recruitment-based

For you to advance and earn higher profits, you have to create a large network.

Expensive products

Although the total initial membership would only cost you around $60, then the products are very expensive, which ranges from $199 to $1,320.

What I Like About Zija International

Positive BBB rating

The Better Business Bureau, or simply the BBB is one way most people use to check the credibility of a business.

Although the business has obtained a positive overall rating, it doesn’t immediately rule that they are a completely reputable company.

There are companies accredited by the BBB that has an A+ rating despite having backgrounds of malpractices.

This instance was elaborated in an online article released by CNN—“Slammed by the Government, A-rated by the Better Business Bureau.”

One example is AdvoCare, which was later on referred by the Federal Trade Commissions as a pyramid scheme. (1)

Final thoughts

I hope my Zija International review has provided you sufficient information to determine whether the business is a good opportunity or not.

But if you ask my opinion, I do not recommend Zija International or any MLMs for that matter.

It’s a high risk, and as the FTC has said, —99% of people incur losses than profits.

So I suggest that you look for other investments.
