Is Prime My Body a scam? Read this before investing!

Health and wellness are where you’ll find most MLMs do their business.

You may also find that most of them are selling CBD oils because of how trending they are today.

Prime My Body is one prime example of MLM companies that are taking advantage of this.

You may have come across them while searching for dietary supplements or CBD or hemp oil products.

You may have become interested in their business opportunity and wondering—is Prime My Body a scam? Or are they legitimate?

If you’re searching for an answer, then you have come to the right place.

In this review, I’ll attempt to help you in your decision-making and come to a conclusion about whether you should invest in them or not.

The Prime My Body business opportunity

Convoluted compensation plans are the hallmark of MLMs.

They’re so complex and almost incomprehensible that it seems like you’ll need professional help from a finance person to decipher their business opportunity.

To make it a little simpler, the income earned by any consultant mainly comes from two things—

• Retail Commissions – it’s the commission earned through retail sales. Or the result of selling the company’s products or services.
• Recruitment – how much you’ll earn depends on how large your network is. Having a large network and making sure that they’re active allows you to increase your personal volume, which is the basis for advancements and incentives.

Prime My Body offers several ways of how a consultant would earn. It includes the following—

• Retail Customers – the consultant must be an Active Affiliate.
• Preferred Customer - the consultant must be an Active Affiliate.
• Fast Builder Rewards - the consultant must be an Active Affiliate.
• Team Building Rewards - the consultant must be an Active and Qualified Affiliate.
• Group Volume
• Residual Income - the consultant must be an Active and Qualified Affiliate.
• Matching Bonus - the consultant must be an Active and Qualified Affiliate.
• Leadership Bonus - the consultant must be an Active and Qualified Affiliate.
• Top Rookie Bonus - the consultant must be an Active Affiliate.

To become an Active Affiliate, all you have to is to avail at least a $100 worth of product.

On the other hand, the consultant has to sponsor two new affiliates to become a Qualified Affiliate

What are its income streams?

The company mentioned that there are eight ways to earn income, but apparently, there’s more than what they’ve specified.

Now, let’s take a look at each of them—

Retail Customers

A more appropriate term for this is retail commissions.

The consultant earns from 10% to 30% commission percentages depending.

Preferred Customers

It is a discounted price given to Prime My Body preferred customers.

A preferred customer is someone who avails the auto-ship. It means that the products are automatically delivered monthly.

The discounted prices are as follows—

In addition, the sponsoring consultant shall earn 25% on the preferred customers’ first order.

The following commissions are based on residual commissions, which will be explained later.

Fast Builder Rewards

The sponsoring consultant receives 25% on initial product purchases by the lower network.

Team Building Rewards

It is where the team or group earns through product purchases.

However, they do not earn any cash immediately. The reward is provided through what they call Reward Points.

How much point the consultant earns is calculated by multiplying the retail price by 50% to 80%. For example, the product amount of $149 yields 74.50 points.

Reward Points and Earning Income

They have what they call cycles.

How it works is when an Active Business Center managed to place new recruits on each side and accumulate 200 points.

The Active Business Center is simply a fancy term they used for their active consultants that also bears an identification number.

The active consultant earns $20 as soon as they fulfill the required points or 10% of the accumulated points.

Group Volume

It’s a feature derived from points accumulated as a group.

Being able to effectively manage your group in increasing and maintaining volume allows you to advance in rankings.

Residual Rewards

In their compensation plan, they offer an extensive explanation of how it works.

But how it really works is simple—you basically earn from the sales made by your lower networks.

Your commission and up-to how many levels depend on your rankings.

Matching Bonus

If your personally sponsored consultants managed to accumulate points from the Team Building Rewards, 50% of those are apportioned to your network up to seven levels deep.

To give you a summary, here is the following chart—

For example, let’s say that you are a Gold ranking consultant of Prime My Body.

And one of your lower networks was able to earn $300 TBR. 50% of the income goes to the Matching Bonus as specified in the mechanics of the feature.

So 50% of $300 is 150. And then, the network that made the sale is on the fourth level. Thus, your earning should be $22.50 (150 x 15%).

Leadership Bonus

It’s a bonus that qualifies consultants that reaches the ranks of Diamond to Black Diamond.

Prime My Body state that consultants within these rankings shall earn the following monthly income—

• Diamond - $1,000 per month
• Double Diamond - $3,000 per month
• Triple Diamond - $6,000 per month
• Black Diamond - $10,000 per month

The consultant shall earn the following figures if they are able to maintain the position in the month.

Does the potential income excite you?

Well, you shouldn’t.

According to the Federal Trade Commission, virtually 100% of people who join MLMs are more likely to lose money than earn anything.

I will explain more of this in a little while.

Top Ten Rookie Bonus

As the term implies, it rewards the top outstanding rookie consultants.

To qualify, they have to comply with the following requirements—

• They must reach and maintain reward points of at least 2,500.
• They need to have at least four personally sponsored recruits.

Rookie consultants have a full month to qualify for the bonus.

$5,000 will be set aside and apportioned to each of the top-performing rookies.

So that means each should receive $500.

How much will it cost me to join?

The basic membership fee is $39, which you also have to settle annually.

Plus, you may also have to purchase a starters kit, which would cost you around $199 to $1,071.

The starters’ kits are as follows—

• Personal Pack - $199
• Starters’ Pack - $357
• Business Pack - $714
• Premium Pack - $1,071
• Premium Pack Plus - $1,014
• Sample Pack - $980

Purchasing them is not mandatory, according to them.

However, as mentioned earlier, income from MLMs usually depends on working on your personal volume.

PVs are improved through capitalization and recruitment. This means that although they don’t oblige you to buy, you may still have to do so to become eligible for bonuses and commissions.

Can you make a reliable income from Prime My Body?

The business model of Multi-Level Marketing is flawed that success is extremely rare.

According to research conducted by the Federal Trade Commissions, they found that 99% of people who join MLMs lose money than earn any income. (1)

This instance was elaborately discussed in Jon Taylor’s book, “Multi-Level Marketing Unmasked.”

You also have to take note that the health and wellness industry is so saturated that it may be hard to compete with other well-known brands like Lazarus, Receptra, Mana Artisan, Charlottes’ Web, Veritas, and four corners.

You may also find that non-MLM brands are more affordable than those sold by MLMs.

A further explanation suggests that MLMs consultants are more likely to incur losses because of two things—

Capitalization

Other than recurring membership fees, consultants have to make monthly product purchases to increase their personal volume and improve their chances of advancements and earning a higher income.

Although Prime My Body doesn’t mandate monthly product purchases, you may be forced to do so to improve your status in the company.

Have you heard of Garage Qualified?

It is where MLM consultants tend to buy company products excessively to improve or maintain their standing.

Most of the time, people who do this eventually lose money and then quit altogether.

Recruitment

For a consultant to significantly improve their personal volume, they have to create a large lower network.

They also have to manage it and replace it if someone becomes inactive or quits.

It is important to replace them immediately, especially if they are trying to maintain or achieving a certain status.

Recruitment is where most of the income of MLM agents comes from. Thus, it becomes problematic if the consultant is unable to recruit sufficient people under their network.

New MLM consultants would typically try to recruit loved ones, family, or acquaintances.

And of course, there’s no guarantee that they’d be able to recruit them. Especially considering how networking is marred by scams and being related to pyramid schemes.

Not only that, but such instances may also lead to annoyance and resentment among you and your loved ones.

The difficult part comes when you finally ran out of people you know whom you may sell the business opportunity.

This is especially difficult for people with no background in marketing or just plain shy. So as you can see, it’s not for everybody.

Is Prime My Body a scam?

I don’t find any reason to believe that Prime My Body is a scam or pyramid scheme.

I think they are a legitimate Multi-Level Marketing that specializes in the health and wellness niche.

However, some of you might argue that MLMs and pyramid schemes are essentially the same. Although I agree to some degree, they are only different in terms of legality.

Pyramid schemes are illegal in most areas worldwide because it’s high risk and purely money. It means that you don’t get value in return—only a promise of huge returns.

On the other hand, Multi-Level Marketing is legal because you do get value in exchange for your so-called investment.

And these values are in the form of retail merchandise that you can sell for profits. 

What I Don't Like About Prime My Body

Success is recruitment-based

As mentioned, your advancements and earning higher income depends on how large your network is.

Products are expensive

There are products that are more affordable than Prime My Body products.

What I Like About Prime My Body

Their flagship products are CBD oils

CBD oils are very popular these days because of the products supposed many health benefits.

But remember that they are not the only ones jumping into the bandwagon. Competition is very high at this point.

Final thoughts

Although the company is technically legitimate, I do not recommend Prime My Body or any MLMs for the matter.

Success is extremely rare. Thus, your chance of earning a higher income is slim.
