What is Bellame?

Bellame is an MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) that specializes in selling beauty and personal care products.

is bellame a scam

It was founded in 2018 by couples Melissa and Scott Thompson.

It’s currently headquartered in Dublin, California, according to its BBB profile.

I won’t be talking about their beauty products because our main objective here is to determine whether their business model is the right fit for you.

With this being said—let’s continue…

The Bellame business opportunity

Bellame currently rewards eight rankings, such as follows—

  • Partner
  • Senior partner
  • Executive partner
  • Director
  • Senior director
  • Executive director
  • Diamond director
  • Platinum executive director

I will explain later how a distributor advances in rankings, and earn a higher income.

In this section and for the following, I’ll discuss first its income streams and how the business opportunity works.

MLMs would tell you that their compensation plan is unique. And it is unlike any other.

But the reality is that they are all the same. The only difference is the gimmicks if you will.

Things like the terms used in the compensation plan, name of rankings, or names of its so-called affiliates—in the case of Bellame, they call it partner.

MLMs primarily work through recruitment and retail sales—that’s it.

If you look at their compensation plan, you’ll find how complicated and almost incomprehensible most are—Bellame is no exception.

It seems like you may have to consult an expert to decipher the whole thing.

It looks like they intentionally do so to prevent potential recruits from asking many questions.

So to completely save them from further questioning, what they’d do instead is just show you the money.

It’s a bit shady but effective.

Now, let’s take a look at how a distributor supposedly earns income.

What are its income streams?

To qualify for bonuses and commissions, the distributor must maintain and personal volume of 100 each month.

Also, a distributor that reached the Partner rank must maintain $300 sale on retails over three months.

A distributor shall enjoy the following if they are able to maintain their rank and status—

Retail Commissions

Retail commissions are a common feature in MLMs. It is whereby the distributor earns through retail sales.

Bellame state that the distributor earns a base retail commission of 25%, which could go up as high as 40%.

  • Climb into the rank of Senior Partner or improve your personal volume anywhere between 1,000 to 1,999 a month, and your percentage bonus increases by 5%.
  • Reach the Executive Partner ranking or improve your personal volume from 2,000 or higher a month, and your percentage bonus increases by 10%.
  • Finally, you gain a 15% percentage bonus if you reach the rankings of Directorship.

Thus, all-in-all the MLM agent is supposed to earn a 40% bonus.

But before you get excited, reaching the top positions in MLMs is rare. In fact, it was shown that only about 2% of people become successful in MLMs.

Product Discounts

Preferred customers of Bellame are referred to as Beauty Pass.

Preferred customers receive a 10% discount with additional free shipping on purchases above $50.

However, to qualify for the Beauty Pass, the retail customer must agree on auto-ship purchases of $50 monthly. Or they may pay $25 annually.

The discount still applies to the monthly auto-ship.

Residual Commissions

Bellame adopts a unilevel type of compensation plan.

In order for any Bellame partner to have any sort of reliable income, they have to recruit continually.

By this, it means that they earn through the retail sales made by their lower network.

Of course, the percentage income they receive also depended on their rankings.

Bellame partners earn for up to four levels deep.

  • Directors – earn a 5% commission on the first level.
  • Senior director – earn a 5% commission on the first level, and 6% on the second level.
  • Executive Director – earn a 5% commission on the first level, 6% commission on the second level, and 3% on the third level.
  • Diamond Director or higher – earn a 5% commission on the first level, 6% commission on the second level, 3% commission on the third level, and 2% commission on the fourth level.

Line 1 Bonus

This bonus is connected to the residual commissions the partner receives as a result.

They state that partner receives 4% commission on the first level of the network they personally recruited.

Infinity Bonus

It’s an exclusive bonus rewarded to Bellame’s top-ranking partners beginning from the Platinum Executive Director or higher.

Members in such rankings receive a percentage bonus of 0.25% on each leg. It is paid up to the network where a Platinum Executive Director is also found.

How much will it cost me to join Bellame?

The basic membership fee (Influencer Kit) of Bellame would cost you $99.

The potential partner may also opt to add products to avail the 35% discount on bundled products.

When they opt for additional products, it would cost them $45.50 and $197.60.

Can you make a reliable income from Bellame?

Making any reliable income from Multi-Level Marketing is extremely rare.

In fact, the Federal Trade Commission says that 99% of people who join MLMs lose money than earn anything.

This was elaborately discussed in Jon Taylor’s book, “Multi-Level Marketing Unmasked.”

It was further explained that MLMs fail to meet expectations because of two main things, and it is as follows—

Recruitment

For any distributor to gain any reliable income from them, they have to recruit people under their network continually.

Advancements and potentially earning higher income largely depends on personal and total group volumes.

This means that you have to immediately replace any member under your network that has become inactive or quit altogether.

Capitalization

Have you heard of Garage Qualified?

It is a special connotation used on MLM agents that tend to over-purchase just for the sake of maintaining or achieving a status.

Tired Of Expensive MLMs?

Here is A Way Better Alternative!

Is Bellame a scam?

No. I didn’t find any reason to believe that Bellame is a pyramid scheme nor scam.

Bellame is a legitimate Multi-Level Marketing company that specializes in the beauty and personal care niche.

This may be the case—some might argue the MLMs are essentially pyramiding schemes because they have the same structure.

Although I agree to some extent, a Pyramid Scheme and MLMs only differ in legality.

A pyramid scheme is illegal in most countries worldwide because it is high risk.

They do not offer anything in exchange for the so-called investment provided by the potential investor.

What they only get is a promise of high returns.

MLMs are technically legal because the recruit receives something of value in exchange for their money.

This value is in the form of products that they can resell for profits.

What I Don't Like About Bellame

The success rate is very low

As emphasized earlier, it was found that anybody who joins MLMs is more likely to incur losses than gains.

Success is recruitment-based

You have to create a large network to advance in rankings and earn a higher income.

Expensive products

Their beauty and personal care products are a little costly compared to more popular brands.

What I Like About Bellame

Positive BBB rating

The Better Business Bureau or simply the BBB is one way people check the credibility of a company.

is bellame a scam

However, we shouldn’t entirely rely on them because there are companies with an A+ rating in the BBB despite having backgrounds of malpractices and fraudulence.

This instance was detailed in an online publication released by CNN—“Slammed by the Government, A-rated by the Better Business Bureau.”

However, I do not say that Bellame is fraudulent in any way.

What I am pointing is that you still have to do homework and research about the companies backgrounds thoroughly.

Final thoughts

Thank you for reading my content, and hopefully, it had provided you sufficient information to determine—is Bellame a scam? Or is it a good business to invest.

Although they are technically legitimate, I still don’t recommend Bellame or any MLMs for that matter.

The success rate is low, that the probability of losing money is much higher than earnings.

So does this imply that they essentially a pyramid scheme in disguise? Is Bellame a scam?

Still, no.

But what I’m saying is that you search for better alternatives.
