What is LurraLife?
LurraLife is an MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) that specializes in selling health and wellness products—particularly dietary supplements.
It was founded in 2012 by a man named Dan Putnam. LurraLife is currently operating in Utah, the United States.
As his website puts it, he is a successful businessman with 25 years of experience in network marketing.
The current website of LurraLife was formerly used by his now-defunct business called O2 Worldwide that also sells nutritional products.
Their flagship product was then called O2 Drops. At first, I thought it’s something you put in your eyes. But it is indeed something that you intake that supposedly makes you more healthy.
As of today, the company is selling various health and wellness products that include DayBreak, Thrive, Nightfall, and Dr. Millers Detox Tea.
I also reviewed other health and wellness MLMs in the past. It includes Usana, XanGo, Zija, and Globallee, to name a few of them.
I won’t be going through the products of LurraLife extensively because our main focus here is their business opportunity—is it a good source of income or not?
Let’s continue my LurraLife review…
The LurraLife business opportunity
The primary characteristic of MLMs is its complex and almost incomprehensible compensation plans.
Most of them are so convoluted that it seems you might need an expert financial person to decipher the entirety of its business opportunity.
The compensation plan for LurraLife is no different. If you want to take a look at them for yourself, then click here.
Take note that their income stream mainly revolves on two factors—
- Retail commissions –it is an incentive resulting from retail sales.
- Recruitment – it is the bread and butter of MLMs because it is where their commissions and bonuses are based from. The larger the network, the higher the income. But such a feature is also the reason why they are flawed (I will explain this in the next chapters).
MLMs try to make their compensation plans as complicated as possible to prevent potential recruits from asking too many questions that could expose the flaws in their business.
So to completely save themselves, they would distract you from pictures or videos of their so-called members holding huge stashes of cash or leaning on a luxury car.
If you’ve been in an MLM seminar, you know what I’m talking about.
As a result, some individuals might get blinded and join.
It seems a little bit shady, but effective nonetheless. It is just how MLMs pitch their business opportunity.
What are its income streams?
Retail commissions
This type of income from MLMs is what separates them from pyramid schemes.
Retail commissions are earned anytime you are able to make product sales.
LurraLife offers a 50% commission based on sales volume as a result of the retail sale.
Two Team Pay
The Two Team Pay is actually the company’s term for residual commissions.
This incentive is the bread and butter or the lifeblood for MLMs. It is where their bonuses and commissions are derived.
What it means is that you have to create a large lower network to advance in rankings and potentially earn a higher income.
The brand partners of LurraLife receive a commission that ranges from 5% up to a maximum of 10%.
Of course, the percentage is depended on their rankings. The summary is as follows—
- One Star brand partner of LurraLife shall receive a 5% commission.
- Two Star brand partners of LurraLife shall receive a 6% commission.
- Three Star brand partners of LurraLife shall receive a 7% commission.
- An 8% commission is provided to brand partners that have Four and Five Star rankings.
- A 9% commission is provided to brand partners in the ranks of Black Star.
- A 10% commission is provided to brand partners in the ranks of Legendary Star.
The commissions are earned weekly.
They state that any leftover from your stronger leg is carried over to the following week.
Fast Start Bonus
It is a bonus that rewards brand partners with a 30% bonus upon the first order of their personally recruited brand partner.
Matching Bonus
It is sometimes called Generational Bonus or Infinity Bonus (although there’s really nothing infinite about it).
Matching Bonus is basically earned from the residual commission of your lower. As I mentioned, your advancement and income as a brand partner of MLMs rest on how large your network is.
LurraLife says that their brand partners receive 50% on residual commissions earned by their personally recruited brand partners.
In addition, they also earn 10% commissions from the downline network up to five generations deep.
Lifetime Bonus
The company states a bonus that ranges from $500 to $2,000 when a brand partner was able to maintain the Crown Ambassador ranking or above for five consecutive weeks.
4X4 Car Bonus
No, you won’t be getting a car, unfortunately. The term car bonus is no literally a car that they’d be providing as a result of a job well done.
This is also a common feature I see in most MLMs where they provide cash assistance to bonuses to their members.
The cash assistance is supposed to help you in obtaining a four-wheel car.
In the case of LurraLife, they offer a monthly car bonus of $500.
The requirement, however, is that they need to have four personally recruited brand partners. And then, those partners must also recruit four each.
The bottom line is that the brand partner must have a total of at least 20 brand partners under their network.
Rank Recognition Reward
The brand partner receives a reward or prize when they a specific milestone.
The summary is as follows—
- A certificate is given to brand partners that reach and maintain the ranks of Platinum Influencer.
- An inspirational waistband is given to brand partners that reach and maintain the ranks of Ambassador.
- A My10kLife Smart Fitness Watch is given to brand partners that reach and maintain the ranks of Global Ambassador.
- Lodging at a company event is rewarded to brand partners that reach and maintain the ranks of the Crown Ambassador.
- A high-quality backpack is given to brand partners that reach and maintain the ranks of Chairman.
- Local adventure trip plus hiking shoes and poles are rewarded to brand partners that reach and maintains the ranks of Platinum Chairman.
- Destination adventure trip with the founders is rewarded to brand partners that reach and maintain the ranks of Crown Chairman.
As you see, this reward only applies when begin ascending to the ranks of Platinum Influencer up to the Crown Chairman position.
Does this all sound dandy? Does it excite you and motivate you to join?
Well, you shouldn’t be.
As I repeatedly emphasized, you need to create a large lower network for you to be able to succeed in MLMs.
And recruitment is one of the primary reasons why MLMs and pyramid schemes why such a business model is extremely flawed. It’s not really about the products, but promoting the business opportunity.
The FTC made a study on this and found that only around 1% succeed in this kind of endeavor. I will explain more about this in the following sections.

Rank and Advancements
LurraLife currently rewards ten ranks. The summary is as follows—
How much will it cost me to join LurraLife?
The membership for LurraLife is free.
However, you have to pay for the starters’ kit that would cost you from $14.95 to $497.
Can you make a reliable income from LurraLife?
Success in Multi-Level Marketing is extremely rare—just as the Federal Trade Commission.
According to their research, about 99% of people who join MLMs incur losses than gain any profits.
This case was thoroughly discussed in Jon Taylor’s book, “Multi-Level Marketing Unmasked.”
It was further added that MLMs fail to meet expectation because of two things—
Capitalization
Are you familiar with the word Garage Qualified?
It is a special definition used to describe MLM affiliates that tend to over-purchase company products and store them in their garages for the sake of improved personal sales volume.
As a result, they end up losing money and running out of funds to finance their business.
They eventually become inactive or quit altogether.
Recruitment
As mentioned, recruitment is the reason why MLMs are linked to a pyramid scheme.
If a company’s product is that profitable, then why not just focus on their actual products instead of recruiting people and creating a lower network.
It is a common practice, especially for a newly incepted company that can’t compete with leading and established brands.
Recruitment may be extra difficult for newly MLM affiliates.
They would probably try to recruit family members, friends, or several acquaintances.
However, it’s still no guarantee that the affiliate could recruit all of them even if they know them.
It could lead to annoyance if the affiliates try to consistently push the business opportunity to them. Or even resentment if the business opportunity fails altogether.
It becomes challenging if they run out of people they know and promote the business opportunity to people they do not know.
But it is harder for people who don’t have a marketing or selling background.
It might lead to frustration if they are unable to make a sale or recruit new affiliates and incur losses.
As a result, they become inactive and eventually quit the business altogether.

Tired Of Expensive MLMs?
Here is A Way Better Alternative!
Is LurraLife a scam?
I didn’t find any reason to believe that LurraLife is neither a pyramid scheme nor a scam.
LurraLife is a legitimate Multi-Level Marketing that specializes in the health and wellness niche as far as legal terms are concerned.
You might argue that MLMs are essentially a pyramid scheme that disguises themselves as a direct selling company.
Although I agree to some degree, they are technically different in legal terms. MLMs provide something of value in exchange for your so-called investment.
And these values are in the form of retail merchandise which you can sell for profits.
On the other hand, pyramid schemes are illegal because you don’t receive anything in return. What you get is only a promise of high returns as a result of your investment.
What I Don't Like About LurraLife
Success is recruitment-based
Your advancement and potentially earning higher bonuses and commission are based on recruitment instead of selling the products.
Risk of loses is more likely
In general, the possibility of incurring losses in MLMs is more likely than earning any income, as explained by the FTC.
No BBB credential
The Better Business Bureau or simply the BBB is one way people check the credibility of a company.
Not having one doesn’t immediately conclude that the company is fraudulent in any way, but it may significantly affect the decision-making of the individual.
What I Like About LurraLife
Positive product rating on the company’s website
LurraLife has a fairly good product rating on their official website.
Final thoughts
I hope my LurraLife review has provided you sufficient information in determining whether the business is a good investment or not.
Although the LurraLife is legitimate, I still don’t recommend them or any MLMs for that matter.
The risk is high, and your chance of losing money is more likely than earning any money.

What you’ll basically be doing is to promote a brand using an affiliate link through your online site.
And you earn commissions anytime someone engages the link provided and eventually purchases the product or services offered on the website of the company.
Of course, the success of this endeavor depends on the amount of traffic being driven into your online site.
If you’re a complete newbie and don’t know where to begin or already have knowledge about how the platform works but struggling as of the moment, then you no longer have to concern yourself about such matters.
