What is Picoworkers?

Picoworkers are a company that provides microsourcing services. They also provide opportunities to anyone who wants to earn extra cash doing small tasks.

It was established in 2012. However, the founder of Picoworkers was not clearly specified.

I am often skeptical about companies not providing basic information. But I found this trend

When you join the platform, you have two options—become one of their workers and earn income or hire someone to do specific tasks so you can focus on more important assignments.

The tasks are often small and don’t require much effort. The assignments are unspecific and may vary depending on the needs of the clients.

But some of the common tasks you’ll find include following a certain social media account or joining an email list.

Do you get the idea? It is that simple!

Their tagline is “Small Gigs. Big Results.”

Small gigs—yes, it is simple and straightforward.

Big results? Uhmm… Maybe for the client because you help them accomplish minor and annoying tasks while enabling them to work on more important matters.

But for the worker—I think “big” is not the right word because what they earn is often insignificant.

Well, if you want a stable and higher source of income, then you have to try my best work-at-home recommendation.

I have reviewed similar platforms in the past. You can check them out if you like—Rapidworkers, Textbroker, Hiresine.com, and Userfeel.com, to name a few.

The registration process

The registration process is relatively simple and straightforward. It won’t take much of you and would probably only consume five minutes tops.

As mentioned, you will be greeted with a question of whether you want to be a “worker” or “employer” as soon as you sign up to their platform.

If you choose “employer,” then your purpose should be to hire an individual who will accomplish minor tasks so that you can concentrate on more important activities.

On the other hand, you choose “worker” if your goal is to earn some extra cash.

You can also become a worker and employer at the same time.

For this review, I will mainly discuss its implication to the worker. However, I will briefly provide some key points on how the platform manages clients along the way.

And then, you provide basic information like name, address, email address, desired nickname, and password, etc.

Later, you will be required to type a summary of your skills.

Lastly, they will ask you to provide credentials such as your ID. This is to verify your identity. It is also an important requirement when withdrawing your earnings.

How does Picoworkers work?

Picoworkers actually offer two options of income opportunity for their workers.

  • Small jobs
  • Ongoing jobs

The details of the above description are as follows—

Small jobs

As the term suggests, it is small. It implies that the gig is easy and would only cost you a few minutes or so.

Some of the common work you’ll find includes—

  • Downloading and installing a mobile application
  • Sponsored review
  • Watching videos
  • Liking Twitter or Facebook posts
  • Sign up jobs
  • Paid-to-click platforms wherein you mainly earn money, for example, by clicking advertisements.
  • Subscribing on a YouTube channel and commenting on a video they uploaded.

Yes, it is that simple, but remember that as easy as they may seem, don’t expect that the pay would be great as well.

But doing these types of activities is ideal if you want to be productive even during your downtime.

It’s better than just sitting around and browsing social media or playing an online game.

You can choose which job you want to work on. As you do so, you will see the specific instruction that the employer provides.

You have to adhere to the guidelines given by your employer and provide them proof that you have accomplished the task as it was instructed.

They will also review your work and evaluate whether you have followed their instruction.

If they are satisfied, you will earn an income.

Ongoing jobs

Ongoing jobs are for people with a particular skillset.

Such tasks may take some time to finish comparing to small jobs. Nonetheless, it is straightforward and easy as long they have the skill necessary for the job.

The types of jobs you’ll find vary depending on the needs of the client. But some of the common tasks you’ll find would require workers to—

  • Sales tally
  • Doing marketing stuff for a website
  • Creating a website banner
  • And many more…

To some, the job may sound pretty sophisticated but not quite. These are practically easy but time-consuming.

Also, payment from these jobs isn’t that high. For example, doing sales tally would only yield around $0.65 per task and $19.50 for the month.

The highest among the ones listed is the marketing of a website, which is costs around $1.25 per task for $37.50 for the month.

As you see, the pay isn’t that high and not reliable because jobs won’t be consistent as well. I will explain this in the following sections.

The payment process

As I emphasized earlier, how much an individual would earn depends on what the client needs and on the nature of the job.

Small jobs won’t help you get anywhere because the average pay is only $30 a month! But I think it would still help you with minor expenses like coffee or lunch.

You can earn a higher income if you are skilled, but I doubt that income from such tasks won’t be enough to support your monthly expenses.

Upon withdrawal of your earnings, you have to provide your photo and identifications to prove that you are the real owner of the account.

Picoworkers offer seven different ways to withdraw your hard-earned money. However, you need to have at least a $5 earning in your cashout.

Also, it comes with a transaction fee every time you withdraw from your account. So don’t expect to get the exact amount when you cash out.

Some of the options and equivalent service fees are as follows—

  • If it’s an Amazon gift card, then it comes with a service fee of 3%.
  • US bank cheque is delivered via courier that comes with a service fee of $5. If you choose this mode of payment, be sure you have more than $5 in your account.
  • If it’s in Cryptocurrency, then it comes with a service fee of 8%.
  • If it’s through PayPal, then it comes with a service fee of 3.25%.
  • If it’s via Paysafecard.com, then it comes with a service fee of $1.
  • If it’s through Payza, then it comes with a service fee of 4.90%.
  • If it’s via Skrill, then it comes with a service fee of 3.25%.

With this level of income that comes with a service fee, is Picoworkers a good source of monthly income?

Let’s see in the following section…

Is it a reliable income?

If you’re thinking of quitting your day job and do microsourcing jobs instead, then you’re positively making a huge mistake.

There may be people that would come up to you and tell you that they’re earning a fortune from such sites. But I assure you that it is only a select few and most people who join them fail to earn any significant and stable income.

Like Rapidworkers, the success rate is extremely low because of factors such as—

  • It is unstable. Jobs are not consistent, and you may have to wait for long periods before you land one gig.
  • The industry is saturated, and you may have to compete with other applicants.
  • The payment is essentially low.

With these factors in mind, microsourcing platforms like Picoworkers or Rapidworkers are not a reliable source of income.

Few employers

The platform is still relatively new, so the number of employers using it is few.

Potentially low income

As you see, the income is very low and only as good as a source of extra income.

Is Picoworkers a scam?

No. I did not find any reason to believe that Picoworkers is a scam, although basic company information was seemingly not disclosed.

I observed such a trend in most of the online-making schemes I reviewed, like GPTs (Get-Paid-To), PTCs (Point-To-Click), and Microsourcing platforms.

I’m not sure if it’s a common practice or anything, but these platforms are legitimate.

Some may lead to believe that they are a scam because of how low the potential income is.

If you decide to join them, however, do not expect high income. Such platforms provide low income.

Final thoughts

I hope my review has provided you sufficient information in answering the all-important question—what is Picoworkers? And whether they are a good fit for you?

Although the platform is legitimate, I do not recommend them in any way if your aim is high income.

How I earn income online

Affiliate Marketing is a better alternative than any online money-making schemes for a few apparent reasons—

  • Higher and more stable source of income
  • It is free, to begin with
  • No upsells
  • Unlimited income because you can promote as many businesses as you want

What you’ll basically be doing is promoting a brand using an affiliate link through your online site.

And you earn commissions anytime someone uses the affiliate link and eventually purchases the products or services offered on the landing page of the brand you’re promoting.

Of course, the success of this endeavor depends on the quality of traffic being driven into your website.

If you’re a newbie and don’t know where to begin or already have knowledge of how it works but struggling as of the moment, then you don’t have to worry any further.
